camping!

So, where have I been? Camping. Absolutely. This was actually the first time I’ve ever been camping. So deprived… I’d slept “under the stars” in our back yard, and in the Reeves back yard…but never actually “gone camping.”

A blessing is…
- a good camp fire
- realizing half-way through the night that I was sleeping in an upside-down “mummy” sleeping bag…
- everyone going swimming…and it being the middle of october…
- realizing that i was wearing a t-shirt, a sweat shirt, a heavy, lined coat, a very heavy denim jacket, sweat pants, jeans, a hat, gloves, socks and sandals…
- a tire swing!
- biking all over the campground
- feeling the WARM lake…(duke energy uses lake keowee’s water as its for coolant for its nuclear reactors…so it usually stays warm through october they say)
- an awesome QT sitting on a rock right by the lake, with my feet in the water, and the waves lapping through my crocs…
- walking up and down the beach in the water and praying and getting the feeling that God has heard
- laying on the ground under nina’s hammock
- after a while of thinking and praying in spanish, having to fight back the spanish and search for the english word…
- consuming massive amounts of chocolate…
- listening to steve pettit again…
- blaring charlie miller’s instrumental piano hymn arrangements with the windows down…and the guy in the car next to us rolling up his windows… lol
- seeing God’s HUGE spread of stars
- actually seeing a shooting star!
- reading Carry On, Mr. Bowditch by the campfire since nina wasn’t there
- david’s “constable hat”

and then a few that were not from the camping trip…
- polly, lizza, and elizabeth (my three favorite characters!)
- free bacon and sausage pizza
- trying to figure how to write bubble letters with chalk…so writing a to z names of friends then dudley complaining of graffiti all over the patio…(I couldn’t think of any good friends for w…and z…and o…q? u? v? I couldn’t even think of a good one for i…
- zeez and i swapping bibles
